Star Wars Mommy and Me Dresses

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

• For Mommy dress use Simplicity 9136. Add 1/4yd fabric for ruffles on sleeve
• Me Dress (Child) use Simplicity 9154. Add 3 3/4" of fabric for ruffles on sleeves and to add to the length of dress without trim
• Sewing notions

DIRECTIONS:

1. Mommy: Cut two strips 4 1/2"x 45". Trim hem of sleeve to a 5/8" seam allowance. Gather to fit the sleeve width. Hem with a turn and turn hem. Stitch to sleeve, serge seam. Complete dress as instructed on pattern
2. Me (child): Add 4 1/2" to bottom of dress to make dress longer omitting bottom trim. Cut two strips 3 1/2"x 12" or length of half of circle of pattern sleeve. Hem with a turn and turn hem. Gather and sew to fit sleeve hem length to sleeve. Complete dress as instructed on pattern.

• To gather ruffles easy, use a gathering foot.
