DIRECTIONS:
- Cut two pieces of chipboard or cardboard to measure 4"x 7" each. Cut another piece to measure 1"x 7".
- Roll out the white stone paper and adhere the three chipboard pieces side by side to create cover. The 1" piece should be in the middle and will form the spine of the book. Cut the stone paper around the chipboard leaving about 1/2". Trim corners. Fold and adhere flaps to inside cover on all sides.
- Use paper trimmer to cut another piece of stone paper measuring 6 3/4"x 9". Adhere to inside cover. Score on both sides of the spine for easier folding. Use Crop-A-Dile to punch four holes in the spine, two at the top and two at the bottom. Set eyelets in each hole.
- Lay the cover open and flat. Use paintbrush to apply some rubbing alcohol in a diagonal pattern across the cover. Apply drops of transparent dye (alcohol inks) on top of the applied rubbing alcohol. Keep adding drops of alcohol & dye until you like the pattern. If it runs too much, use a heat tool or blow dryer to speed the drying process.
- Cut twenty-four pieces of paper measuring 7 1/4"x 6 3/4" each. Fold each in half. Stack into two stacks of twelve pages each - the stacks of folded paper are called signatures. Punch a hole in the top and bottom of each signature at the fold to match the holes in the cover.
- Thread string through the cover and signatures to secure the pages to the book cover. Knot the string on the inside.
