STITCH EXPLANATIONS:
M1 (make 1)
An increase worked by lifting the horizontal strand lying between needles and placing it onto the left needle.
Knit this new stitch through the back loop - 1 st increased.
s2kp (slip 2, knit 1, pass over)
Slip next 2 sts as if to knit them together, knit 1, pass the 2 slipped sts over the knit st and off the needle - 2 sts decreased.
ssk (slip, slip, knit)
Slip next 2 sts as if to knit, one at a time, to right needle; insert left needle into fronts of these 2 sts and knit them together - 1 st decreased.
TECHNIQUE EXPLANATION:
w&t (wrap & turn):
A technique used to ensure that a small hole doesn't form at the end of a short row.
Slip next st as if to purl.
Bring yarn between needles to opposite side of work.
If yarn is in back of work, bring it between needles to front.
If yarn is in front of work, bring it between needles to back.
Take care not to wrap the yarn over a needle, this would create a new st.
Slip same st back to left needle.
Turn work and bring yarn in position for next st.
If the next st is a knit st, bring yarn between needles to the back.
If the next st is a purl st, bring yarn between needles to the front.
This creates a wrap around the st.
When you next work this st, pick up the wrap and work it together with the st.

NOTES:
Sweater is made in 4 pieces: Back, front, and 2 sleeves.
All pieces are worked back and forth in rows.
Work back and forth in rows on circular needle as if working on straight needles.
The lower section of back and front are shaped by working short rows.
Short rows are a way to add shaping to a knit piece without changing the st count by increasing or decreasing.
When working short rows, only part of a row is worked before you turn the work.
This gradually adds height to one section, while the height of the other section does not change.
Roll neck is worked in rnds, directly onto neck edge.
Pieces are worked in St st (k on RS, p on WS), this means that the edges will roll naturally.
When you see work 'even’ in the instructions, this means to continue on in the pattern st you have established without changing the st count by increasing, decreasing, or binding off.
