Stripe Baby Quilt

Beginner Over 5 Hours

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 5/8yd solid fabric for narrow stripes
  • 7/8yd print fabric for wide stripes
  • 1yd fabric for backing
  • 1/2yd fabric for binding
  • Crib size batting
  • One skein #5 pearl cotton
  • Rotary cutter, ruler and mat
  • Basic sewing supplies
  • Iron and pressing surface
  • Sewing machine

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Read all instructions before cutting and sewing. Use accurate 1/4" seams.
  2. From solid cut 5 - 3 1/2" x WOF strips for narrow stripes.
  3. From print cut 4 - 6 1/2" x WOF strips for wide stripes.
  4. Sew strips together beginning with a narrow stripe and alternate rows. Press.
  5. Sandwich backing, batting and quilt top. Baste or pin to hold together.
  6. Using the pearl cotton hand sew three rows of running stitches across each of the five solid rows.
  7. Trim and do additional quilting if desired.
  8. Bind your quilt. It should finish at 30"x 40".
