- 1 1/2 yds blizzard fleece in light blue
- 1 1/2 yds blizzard fleece in turquoise
- Rotary cutter
- Cutting mat
- Acrylic ruler
- 1 roll easel paper for pattern
- Pencil
- Basic sewing supplies
- Sewing machine
- 2 bags bean bag filler (such as Poly-Fil)
DIRECTIONS:
- Cut ten stripes 4 1/2"x 59" of each color.
- Sew stripes together along long sides using 1/4" seam allowance and repeating the same stripe pattern.
- Draft a pattern piece out of the easel paper 28"x 40".
- Pin pattern to fabric made out of fabric stripes, angling the pattern so that the diagonal corners match with one of the stripes. Cut out 1 pattern piece.
- Pin piece to the remainder of the striped fabric, right sides together, matching all stripes. Cut out second piece, using the first piece as your guide.
- Sew two long sides and one short side together, leaving an 8" opening in the center of one of the long sides.
- On the open short side, pull apart the front and back piece from the center of the side length. Match the seams from sewing the long sides and then pin across the remainder of the side. This seam should now be going in the opposite direction of the other short side. Sew across.
- Turn bean bag right side out. Fill with bean bag filler and hand stitch opening closed. Make sure your stitches are secured and close together to prevent beanbag filler from escaping.
