Stuffed Fleece Fish

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 1/2 yd printed fleece
  • 1/4 yd contrast solid fleece
  • 2 lbs Fiber Fill (approximately)
  • Two 1 1/8" Covered buttons
  • Matching thread
  • Basic sewing supplies
  • Glue (optional)

DIRECTIONS:

  1. To print the patterns, click on the "Download Project PDF" button (above). Enlarge patterns.
  2. Cut out front and back of fish from print fleece.
  3. Cut out fins from contrast solid fleece.
  4. With WST, edge stitch around outside of fins.
  5. If desired, lightly stuff fins.
  6. Top stitch lines in fins (see photo).
  7. Stitch side fins to fish along stitching line indicated on pattern.
  8. Baste top and bottom fins to fish front.
  9. With WST, edge stitch around outside of fish, leaving an opening in the bottom back for stuffing.
  10. Stuff to desired firmness.
  11. Stitch opening closed.
  12. Follow manufacturer's directions and cover 2 buttons with contrast.
  13. Sew eyes in place as shown.
  14. If desired, cut a thin piece of contrast and glue in place for mouth.
