- Pre-made stole with fringed ends, 28" x 72"
- Assorted coordinating buttons
- 1 yd of 7/8" (2.22cm) grosgrain ribbon
- Choose a Coats thread for sewing on buttons: Coats Secura- Heat-activated Button Thread or Dual Duty Plus(r) Button & Craft Thread or Dual Duty XP(r) All-purpose Thread
Finished Size: 28" x 71" folded
DIRECTIONS:
- Seams are 1/4" (.64cm).
- Fold the shawl lengthwise with right sides together, matching the finished edges. Sew the upper edges together, leaving a neckline opening 15" (38.10cm) from the fold. Press this shoulder seam open. Stop the shoulder seam stitching at the fringe line.
- Pin the ribbon under the shoulder seam and trim to slightly shorter than the actual seam length.
- Hand stitch assorted buttons along the shoulder seam, spacing as desired. Stitch through the ribbon for support for the button weight.
- Sew a few buttons at the lower front corner of the wrap to provide some weight to hold it in place.
