DIRECTIONS:

NOTE: Use 5/8" seam on pattern.
  1. Cut the lace and solid fabric the same as pattern instructions for view 1 & 8 except for Pattern #15, cut three of lace and two of solid fabric.
  2. Cut the #15 as long as desired for the full length of dress. Make sure the full fan is at the proper length as when finished, trim excess of the full fan to make the lace scallops.
  3. Pattern #5: Cut two of lace, four of solid fabric and 2 interfacing.
  4. Sleeve #6: Trace sleeve on to a large piece of Kraft paper, at least 28" long. Fold sleeve in half, mark center. Add 16" to the underarm seam and 5" to the center mark. Shape bottom of sleeve going down dramatically to the underarm seam. Measure off the bottom width of hemline of sleeve then cut enough fan lace to sew to the hemline. Trim off excess to have scallops.
  5. Cut 1/2" elastic to fit arm muscle snugly, make a casing out of lace, insert elastic then sew to upper sleeve. Serge the raw edges, top stitch down.
