Super Hero dress-Up Outfit

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Simplicity 1035
  • Pajama top and bottoms
  • Fabric and notions on pattern envelope
  • 8" of Velcro for wrist cuffs
  • 1/2 yard of 1/4" elastic
  • 1/4 yard of gold satin fabric
  • 4 1/2" of fusible interfacing
  • Cut 2 extra small stars from pattern for cuffs
  • Wonder Under
  • Kraft paper, pencil
  • Sewing notions

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Seams are 5/8" unless noted.

  2. Cuffs: Use cuff pattern provided in pattern. Measure wrist and forearm. Enlarge pattern if needed. Cut 2 cuffs out of blue, 2 out of gold and 2 interfacing. Press interfacing to gold satin. Sew right sides together, leaving an opening for turning. Turn right sides out, press then stitch Velcro at the ends. Press small extra cut blue star on each cuff.

  3. Large star: Cut a square 8"x 8" of gold satin. Use directions on pressing Wonder Under to fabric. Draw a large 5 point star approximately 6" high on the back of wonder under paper. Cut out the star, peel back white paper. Press star onto t-shirt.

  4. Mask: Use the mask pattern provided. Trace pattern onto Kraft paper. Press the Wonder Under to a block of gold satin. Cut 2 masks out of gold satin. Trim the top part of mask to be closer to the shape of the eyebrows. Cut excess paper. Press the top mask to the under mask, trimming any excess. Cut an opening around the eyes. Adjust elastic to fit, attach to sides of mask.


JOANN HACKS:

  • When using Wonder Under, cut extra amount around pattern piece. After pressing the Wonder Under to fabric, then cut off excess.
