- Candy Canes or Candy Cane sticks
DIRECTIONS:
- First, lay everything you plan on using to dip and decorate your candy cane stir sticks out on your table or workspace. Make sure everything is easily accessible, and that you have a plate or tray for your treats to rest on as they dry.
- Prepare your Sweetshop Melt'ems for dipping. Start by reading the instructions on the bag of the bag carefully.
- To Melt:
- Place Melt'ems in a microwave safe container.
- Microwave at 50% or on defrost setting for 1 minute.
- Stir. Return to microwave for 30 second intervals stirring in between until candy is melted.
- Now Melt'ems are ready to dip. Get your candy canes ready to dunk.
- Repeat the melting process as desired with as many colors as you wish to use!
- Make sure your Melt'ems are in a container that allows you to dip a good portion of your candy cane. Dip your candy cane into the Melt'ems, and allow the excess to drip off for a few seconds. Transfer your dipped candy cane to your plate or tray and allow to cool and dry. Repeat this process as many times as desired with as many candy canes as you want. Allow for 10-20 for melt'ems to cool completely.
- Once your candy canes are cool, it is time for a second coat. Dip your candy cane in the melt'ems once again, covering the previously dipped portion completely. Place your candy cane back on your plate or tray and allow to cool. If you would like to add sprinkles, mini marshmallows, or mini chocolate chips while the top coat is still wet, now is the time! Allow for another 10-20 minutes for this stage to cool.
- It's time to drizzle. Spoon some melt'ems into a piping bag and cut a small hole at the end. This will allow you to create cute controlled drizzles over the top of your hot cocoa stir sticks. You can add sprinkles or other embellishments at this stage if you wish as well. After finishing your drizzling and embellishing, allow your stir sticks to cool and dry one final time.
- Once your sticks are completely cool and set-up, it is time wrap. Place them in your tall clear treat bags and grab your favorite Christmas ribbon. Tie a cute bow at the top, and they're ready to go. Cute and delicious hot cocoa stir sticks that make the perfect gift around the holidays!
