SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
  • 3-5 lbs White Soap Base
  • Heavy Duty Loaf Mold
  • Scissors
  • Packets of floral petals or lavender
  • Soap cutter
  • Essentail Oil
  • Soap Swirling Set
  • Packets of soap dyes
  • Roll of parchment paper

DIRECTIONS:
  1. Find a clean flat surface to work on near your microwave.
  2. Lay out a sheet of parchment paper for placing your soaps once you extract them from the soap molds.
  3. Follow the instructions on the soap package.
  4. It works best to cut the big block of soap into small cubes about 1" each for faster melting.
  5. Set up the mold with the dividers close by.
  6. When you have melted the soap, dip the dividers into the melted soap and place in the soap mold on an angle.
  7. Pour the melted soap into the mold. Squeeze drops of dye on top of the melted soap. Let it sit for a few seconds and then barely swirl the soap to create a slight swirl pattern. Let the soap in the mold cool.
  8. Remove the soap from the mold and trim the sides with the cutter to get a clean edge.
  9. Place the rose petals in a single layer on the parchment paper.
  10. Press a fresh cut bar of soap onto the rose petals to smash the petals into the surface of the bars. You can also crush the petals finer and then push the bars into the crushed petals.

JOANN HACKS:
  • If you want to speed up the process, put soaps in a cool place or the refrigerator. They become firmer and easier to work with.
