Thread sealer
The one I bought didn’t work at all. It was silver though. I took it back. They offered to give me another one but they wouldn’t put batteries in it to make sure it worked.

Package instructions wrong
I just bought this sealer, the version II. So far it works well, except the instructions on the back of the package are wrong. It shows to put the positive end of the battery towards the screw on lit. It won't work that way. The positive end needs to face down into the tube towards the working end before it will heat. I would have given it a 5 except for the instructions.

Just what I needed
I bought this just over several months ago and have been using it on a regular bases for my thinner threads in making of my rosaries. I'm about to purchase a spare just to travel with for class demo. It truly does a wonderful job even though I change batteries a little more often than I think I should. The wire tip is delicate so I would not recommend this for very thick cording.

I use this when cutting my threads when making kumihimo jewelry. It's the second one I bought in a few months. It does the job but the thread cutter itself is not at all sturdy and breaks easily. For the quality I feel it is overpriced.
