DIRECTIONS:
- Bake cake donuts following directions on Food Crafting Mix and using the Wilton Cake Donut Pan.
- Following your glaze or royal icing recipe, substitute regular powdered sugar for Food Crafting Powdered Sugar in various colors. To make a tie-dye donut, make a small amount of glaze or icing in each of the colors, pink, blue, yellow and orange.
- If you want a more pastel color, mix regular powdered sugar with each color.
- Place parchment paper under cooling rack and line up donuts with a little space in between on rack.
- Icing donuts can be done two ways:
- Make a line of each color of icing on a plate and then take a toothpick and swirl the colors together. Don’t over-mix or the colors will all combine. Dip each donut into icing. This may need to be done two times to fully cover the donuts. Set on rack to allow excess icing to drip off the donut. Immediately sprinkle half of the donut with sugar sprinkles.
- Pour all the colors into one bowl and gently swirl the colors together. Pour icing directly onto donuts.
- Donuts can also be decorated the same way with only using one color and a white icing for a marble design.
