Tim Holtz Distress watercolor cardstockTim’s distress watercolor cardstock stands up to a lot of water. It’s great for creating backgrounds with distress inks or reinkers. It has both a textured and a smooth side to choose when applying color depending on weather or not you’re going to stamp on it. It’s an especially good choice when it’s on sale.

Not that goodI am using this with distress oxide. Tim Holtz said it works best with the oxide inks. I am finding that this very quickly pills with not too much water. It is a mess and unusable.

NOT for watercoloring, even though it says so!Very disappointed with this paper. I expected better from Ranger. The packaging assures you that this paper is for watercoloring and wet techniques, but I assure you it is not. I tried watercoloring several pieces of this cardstock, and the paper pilled every time. Usually a pilling issue can be solved by using less water, depending on the paper you're using (a weaker paper + more water = pilling, weaker paper + less water = no pilling), so I figured I was just using too much water, and commenced to using less water...but there was still pilling. So I used even less, and less, and less, until I just finally stopped using water on this paper altogether. This so-called 'watercolor paper' cannot handle even a slight bit of water without pilling. I have been pleased with every single Ranger/Tim Holtz product I've ever purchased until now. I was trying to save money by buying this paper, but since I refuse to ever buy this paper again, it looks like I'm back to using a more expensive alternative once again.

Good for Distress Inks-Watercolors not so much.If you are just looking to work with Distress Inks (especially ink blending, backgrounds and color "blobs") this is a nice, inexpensive paper to use. A perfect size for carmakers. However if you are looking for a paper that will stand up to much brushwork at all, this is not the paper for you. It pills quite easily. It has it's uses and place in the craft room, just not so much for art work of any sort.

This is absolutely the perfect cardstock for cardsI have been purchasing the cardstock for a very long time because it's fantastic for coloring, painting, distress inking for greeting cards. Smooth side or textured side - both work perfectly.
