Tissue And Yarn Tassel Banner

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

• Tissue paper in various colors
• Yarn in various colors and textures
• Twine
• Scissors
• Ruler/yardstick
• Silver & gold metallic spray paint

DIRECTIONS:

1. Fold the tissue paper in half long ways and cut into a 3" strip.
2. Cut 1/2" strips from the end towards the fold stopping 2-1/2" before the fold.
3. Optional: spray paint both ends and both sides of tissue paper with silver or gold metallic spray paint. DO NOT over saturate tissue paper with paint, apply light coats.
4. Twist the middle of the tissue paper where the strips are not cut, then fold in half.
5. Cut a piece of twine to desired length for banner.
6. Cut five 20" pieces of yarn similar in color to the tissue paper. Fold the tissue paper and yarn over the twine roping. Wrap just below the fold with yarn and knot to secure the tassel. Do not leave too big of a loop on the top of the tassels or tassels will slide together once strung on twine.
7. Repeat to create desired quantity of tassels.
