  • Clean Upcycled Yogurt Container (or similar)
  • Craft Paint

DIRECTIONS:
To find the downloadable patterns click on the "GET PATTERNS" tab above.
  1. This project makes one toss and catch game. Multiply your materials when crafting more than one.
  2. Poke a small hole through the bottom of the yogurt container and paint. Next, paint the bamboo skewer and set the painted pieces aside to dry.
  3. Print out the flower, leaf, and polka dot designs provided and use scissors to cut out the patterns. These patterns are now ready to use as templates. Trace and cut shapes from the construction paper. If you prefer to cut without leaving pencil marks, use painter's tape to gently tack a rough cut-out template to construction paper and cut both simultaneously without tracing. There are multiple interior circles provided for the flower, use the one that slightly covers the opening of your Upcycled container.
  4. Push the painted bamboo skewer through the container to the other side. Clip off the sharp point on the skewer that may be sticking out with scissors and add glue to secure it in place. Next, glue the leaves to the skewer "stem."
  5. Thread the yarn through the hole in the container's bottom, tying a sizeable double knot inside. On the outside, add a bead, trim yarn to approximately 12", and knot to finish.
  6. Glue the flower to the top and add paper polka dots onto the sides of the container.

JOANN HACKS:
  • Hot glue gun/glue gun sticks can help glue some materials together if an adult crafter assists.
  • Toss and catch craft is a great party activity.
  • If you want to make your toss and catch game more durable, add a clear coat finish or gloss varnish to the painted surfaces.
