DIRECTIONS:

- One 5" x 3" vinyl.
- One 8" x 6" for back of pocket in dark teal and interfacing.
- Four 2" x 6" for frame of vinyl window in dark teal and interfacing for each.
CUT FOR CENTER SECTION
- Two 5.5" x 8" light teal with bee
- One 5.5" x 8" interfacing.
- One 7" x 5.5" light teal with daisy for pocket and interfacing.
CUT FOR SECTION 3
- One 5.5" x 8" dark teal bubble print and interfacing.
- Two flaps in daisy print and one interfacing
- Two scissor pockets in teal/bee pattern and one interfacing.
- For backing cut one 8" x 18" in dark teal and one interfacing for organizer backing.
SECTION 1
- Fuse interfacing to all pieces. Starting with the long sides of vinyl window sew the 5" strips to each side with wrong side of fabric to front of vinyl using a 1/4" seam. Finger press open and top stitch close to folded edge. Sew top and bottom pieces to vinyl in same manner.
- Trim to 5.5" x 8".
- Change to zipper foot and place zipper face down to one long edge of pocket and sew in place.
- Fold fabric out and top stitch close to zipper teeth. The opposite side of zipper will be sewn to backing after organizer is sewn together.
- Pin the backing fabric behind the vinyl window being sure to see the front of the fabric. Baste to bottom seam. Set aside.
CENTER SECTION
- Fuse all interfacing to fabric.
- Fold 7" x 5.5" pocket in half and press 3.5" x 5.5". Top stitch 1/4" along folded edge.
- Layer the two 5.5" x 8" teal/bee pieces WST, and pin pocket to bottom. Baste sides and bottom together.
- Insert 1 or two pieces of batting 5.5" x 8" into top opening to make the top puffy to hold pins or needles.
- Measure down from top 2.5" and stitch across to divide into two sections. Set aside.
SECTION 3
- Fuse all interfacing to fabric.
- With RST, sew 1/4" seam around scissor pocket leaving and opening for turning. Turn and press. Sew opening closed. Top stitch 1/4" across top edge.
- With RST, sew 1/4" seam around flap of pocket leaving the straight edge of flap open. Turn and press. Top stitch around leaving straight edge open.
- Center pocket to 5.5" x 8" backing bubble teal fabric about 1 up from bottom. Pin in place.
- Center pocket flap above pocket approximately 1" having the straight edge over pocket and the rounded edge facing away. Pin in place.
- Insert the scissors you might use into pocket and fold down the pocket flap. Make sure the flap will close over scissors and have room to close with a snap. Some scissors handles are thick and may need more room for closure. Adjust spacing as needed.
- When the spacing works, open up flap and sew along the straight edge with a scant 1/4" seam.
- Fold down and top stitch 1/4" from folded edge.
- Sew pocket in place stitching close to edge and leaving top open.
- Fold flap down and mark for snap placement.
- Sew snap to inside of flap and outside of pocket.
- Line up the sections a, 2 and 3. Sew each section together using a 1/2" seam allowance.
- On section with scissor pocket, mark center of outside edge and baste 1/2" of the ribbon to that mark having ribbon facing into organizer.
- Lay the organizer after sections are sewn together with right side up.
- With RST, pin backing fabric to organizer over zipper and back of pocket.
- Using your zipper foot, stitch along edge of zipper.
- Fold fabric out and press. Top stitch close to zipper.
- Fold backing fabric down over front of organizer and pin. Trim any excess length.
- Sew 1/2" seam allowance around leaving an opening for turning.
- Be sure to not catch the tail of the ribbon into seam.
- Turn and press. Stitch opening closed.
- Top stitch along long sides and opposite sides of zipper.
- Stitch in the ditch between section 2 and 3.
- Mark center of section 1 and 2 and put pin through to the back of organizer. This is where the remaining ribbon will be attached.
- Fold under one edge of ribbon about 1/2" and pin over center back mark. Stitch in the ditch between section 1 and 2 being sure to catch the ribbon in place.
- Fold zipper section over center, fold 3rd section over and tie.
