Trim Accent Pillows

18" ACCENT TRIM PILLOW WITH ENVELOPE BACK

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 5/8 yds fabric
  • 5/8 yds each of various accent trims
  • 18" pillow form
  • Fabric glue (optional)
  • Matching thread
  • Basic sewing supplies

DIRECTIONS:

Note: Use 1/2" seam allowance
  1. From fabric, cut one 19"x 19" for front and two 19"x 14" for back.
  2. Place trim on one side of pillow front as desired 4"- 5" from edge (see photo).
  3. Stitch or glue trim to pillow front.
  4. Repeat with other trims.
  5. Make a narrow hem on one side of each back piece.
  6. With RST, overlap back pieces and stitch all around pillow sides.
  7. Clip corners and turn RS out.
  8. Insert pillow form.

16" ACCENT TRIM PILLOW WITH ENVELOPE BACK

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 1/2 yds fabric
  • 1/2 yds each of various accent trims
  • 16" Pillow form
  • Fabric glue (optional)
  • Matching thread
  • Basic sewing supplies

DIRECTIONS:

Note: Use 1/2" seam allowance
  1. From fabric, cut one 17"x 17" for front and two 19"x 12" for back.
  2. Place trim on one side of pillow front as desired 4"- 5" from edge (see photo).
  3. Stitch or glue trim to pillow front.
  4. Repeat with other trims.
  5. Make a narrow hem on one side of each back piece.
  6. With RST, overlap back pieces and stitch all around pillow sides.
  7. Clip corners and turn RS out.
  8. Insert pillow form.

14"x 5" NECK ROLL ACCENT TRIM PILLOW

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 5/8 yds fabric
  • 2 yds each of tassel accent trims
  • 1 yd flat accent trim
  • 18" Pillow form
  • Fabric glue (optional)
  • Matching thread
  • Basic sewing supplies

DIRECTIONS:

Note: Use 1/2" seam allowance
  1. From fabric cut one 16 3/4"x 15" for pillow and two 6" circles for sides.
  2. Place trim on one side of pillow front as desired starting about 2" from side edges (see photo).
  3. Stitch or glue trim to pillow front.
  4. Repeat with other trims. (see photo)
  5. With RST, stitch pillow bottom seam, leaving opening for turning.
  6. Carefully clip side edges in 1/2" apart on both sides.
  7. Stitch circle sides to clipped edges.
  8. Clip as needed and turn RS out.
  9. Insert pillow form and slip stitch opening closed.
