DIRECTIONS:

NOTE: When removing old paint it is recommended to test for lead. Test kits can be found at any hardware store.

FOR LOUNGE STYLE CHAIRS:
  1. Brush off the chairs with the dry scrub brush.
  2. Use the steel wool to remove any rust spots or old paint.
  3. If possible, remove old fabric cloth. If not possible to remove old fabric, then use the painter's tape to mask out the edges of the lounge chairs, leaving the metal part exposed. Also use the painter's tape and the newspapers to cover any larger areas of the fabric. Make sure the tape is press firmly against any of the seams so that the spray paint does not seep under the tape and onto the existing fabric. In a well-ventilated area and plastic covered surface apply a coat of spray paint to the chairs.
  4. You will need to apply 3-4 coats of paint. Let it dry between coats and turn the chairs over so that you are also spraying the underside of the chairs as well. Remove all masking material. Let the paint completely cure before using the chairs. This will take 3-5 days.

FOR CUSHIONS:
NOTE: 1/2" seam allowance.
  1. Cut one pc fabric for front 24" x 77 1/2".
  2. Cut one pc fabric for top back 24" x 36".
  3. Cut one pc fabric for bottom back 24" x 44".
  4. Fold bottom edge of top pc under 1" and center velcro and stitch.
  5. Finish top edge of bottom and center velcro and stitch.
  6. Join Velcro and place RSU.
  7. Cut ribbon into four 2' pcs.
  8. Fold ribbon in half and place 2" down from top at seam and at center where velcro joins at each side.
  9. Place front RST on top and seam all 4 edges.
  10. At each corner, box edges, matching seams, 2".
  11. Turn RSO Stuff with foam.

JOANN HACKS:

  • Don't over saturate the surface of the chairs with the spray paint. It adheres better if you do lighter coats and let it dry between applications.
