SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 1/2yd Special Occasion Sequin Fabric
  • Button Down Shirt
  • 1 pkg Double Width Seam Binding in Matching Color
  • Tracing Paper or Pattern Making Paper
  • Basic Sewing Supplies

DIRECTIONS:

  1. With tracing paper, trace along front of shirt, collar and shoulder seam.
  2. Continue down front of shirt the width you would like your panels to be.
  3. Cut out sequin fabric.
  4. Pin and stitch seam binding around the entire front panel that will be on the button side.
  5. For the side with the button holes, there is a flap that the panel can slightly go under, so do not sew the binding on that side. Just stitch the binding on to the remaining sides.
  6. For the side with the button holes, place the panel close to the flap, pin and stitch all around close to the original stitching of binding.
  7. Pin the opposite panel close to buttons and stitch all around panel.
