- 1/2yd Accent Fabric
- Tracing Paper
- Basic Sewing Supplies
- Garment to be Upcycled
DIRECTIONS:
- Trace the areas you wish to accent. Yokes, cuffs, or pockets.
- Cut out fabric for each section making sure you add extra 1/2 inch around for seams.
- For the yoke, cover the area with fabric and fold under edges for seams. Pin in place. Top stitch to shirt.
- For pockets, place fabric over pocket section and pin over existing pocket. Fold under the top section of the pocket. Leave this top part open and top stitch around the remaining 3 sides.
- For the cuffs, measure the length and width adding the 1/2" seam allowances. Cut out and press under the seam allowances. Pin in place. Top stitch around all four sides.
- If you have to cover over snaps or buttons, remove those first and reattach after accents have been added.

Cute idea, but can’t picture the instructions
Cute idea!!! But I’m a beginner sewer. Pictures of the steps would help me tremendously. I’ve looked at a couple of your projects now and just don’t feel confident enough to attempt it because I can’t fully understand/visualize the steps

Not enough help
Your materials list and instructions are too simplified. No details that would give most sewists the outcome pictured here. Photo is inspiring but doubt reading this will help most get same results
