Velvet Shell Pillows

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

• 2/3yd - velvet for large pillow
• 1/2yd - velvet for medium pillow
• 1/2yd - velvet for small pillow
• 2yds - muslin for lining
• 1 - washable marking pen
• 2 - bags of Polyfil
• Basic sewing supplies

DIRECTIONS:

1. Cut 2 - large pattern of velvet, and muslin. (for front and back)
2. With muslin on wrong side of shell pattern mark lines for veins of shell.
3. On wrong side of shell, stitch along drawn lines.
4. Stuff the sections made by the stitched lines.
5. The back of shell pillow can be stuffed or left with the stitching only.
6. With RST, stitch around outside of shell starting and stopping at bottom leaving an opening for turning and stuffing.
7. Turn and stuff pillow.
8. Sew opening closed.
