SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- Follow yardage on pattern envelope for solid fabric
- Follow yardage on pattern for the Dotted Mesh as the solid fabric
- 1/2 yd. for underlining
- Butterick 6318
- 22" invisible zipper
- 1 1/2 yd of Boning
- Kraft paper, pencil
- Sewing supplies
DIRECTIONS:
- Use 5/8" seam on pattern.
- Cut the Dotted Mesh and solid fabric the same as pattern instructions except for the solid fabric front and back bodice.
- Trace front and back bodice on to Kraft paper. Measure down 5" at the center front, making a curved line to the curve of the underarm. Adjustment can be made for a lower or higher neckline. Mark from the center back down 9", drawing a line to the curve of the underarm.
- Cut back and front out of solid fabric and underlining out of new pattern of Kraft paper.
- Sew boning to front and back, near invisible princess lines on underlining.
- Cut 1 1/2" strips of solid fabric for trimming the Dotted Mesh neckline and dropped sleeve.
- Complete pattern as instructed overlaying Dotted Mesh over solid fabric.
JOANN HACKS:
- Use #14 sewing needle when doing heavy fabric or 2 layers of fabric.
- Do not hem Dotted Mesh fabric as it will not ravel.
