SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- Denim or cotton fabric
- DMC Size 5 Pearl Cotton ball
- Embroidery needle
- Ruler
- Scissors
- Iron & ironing board
- Chalk pencil
- Safety pins
DIRECTIONS:
- Cut fabric patches to size and shaped needed to cover the area you are mending. Add 1/2" to all sizes to accommodate folding under the raw edges.
- Fold under edges 1/2" and press with iron. Pin patch flat to area using safety pins. Use as many pins are needed to secure that patch as you sew.
- If desired, plan out and mark embroidery design using chalk pencil. Embroider design with pearl cotton thread using a running stitch. Secure edges of the patch using a whip stitch, blanket stitch or running stitch close to the edge.
