SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- Jeans
- Scissors
- Iron-on denim patches
- Iron and ironing board
- Pearl Cotton embroidery floss (size 5)
- Strong embroidery needle
- Optional: embroidery hoop
- Optional: thimble
DIRECTIONS:
- Trim patches to desired size.
- Iron patches onto your jeans.
- Thread your needle with embroidery floss and satin stitch to secure the patch to the jeans around the border. Tie off the beginning and end of your thread on the inside of the jeans by wrapping the loose thread around a secured stitch.
- Once your patches are adhered, use another color of embroidery floss to add decorative stitches (consider dashed lines, plus signs, or Xs) on top of the patch area.
JOANN HACKS:
- Instead of pulling your needle back and forth, consider working just from the top of the fabric so that you complete a full stitch at once.
