SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Poster Frame: Any Size
  • Spray Paint: Two Different Colors
  • Chalk Paint (optional)
  • Chalk Markers: Assorted Colors
  • Washi Tape: Assorted Colors
  • Wooden Clothespins
  • Mounting Tape
  • Double-Sided Tape
  • Cardstock or Scrapbooking Paper
  • Stickers

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Remove the acrylic sheet & backing from the poster frame.
  2. Set aside.
  3. Prepare a well-ventilated area for spray painting.
  4. Spray the frame & set aside to dry.
  5. Spray a second coat if needed once dry.
  6. Spray the cardboard backing with the second color.
  7. Add a border around the edges of the acrylic sheet with chalk paint & allow to dry (optional)
  8. Add any cardstock or scrapbooking papers to the inside onto the cardboard backing with the double-sided tape.
  9. Place the acrylic sheet on top & secure into the frame.
  10. Paint the clothespins if desired & secure to the acrylic with mounting tape once dry.
  11. Add photos & other materials with washi tape, double-sided tape & stickers.
  12. Add notes & sketches with the chalk markers.

JOANN HACKS:

  • Spray dark-color poster frames white & allow to dry before spraying the frame the desired color.
  • If the cardboard backing warps after the spray paint application, lightly spritz water onto the back of the cardboard once the spray paint has dried & weigh it down flat with books.
  • Allow to dry.
  • Cut custom stickers from removable vinyl using a Cricut® machine.
