DIRECTIONS:

  1. Cut three lengths of lath to 18". Use sandpaper to round over all edges of 18" and 23 1/2" shelves and lath. The braces of the shelves will act as legs to support the poster frame. The bottom edge of one 24" side of frame will sit on the floor. The 23 1/2" shelf will be attached to the front of the frame and the 18" shelf to the back of the frame. The back of the shelves will lay on the floor. The lath will be applied to the top, back of both shelves and act as spacers between the shelves and plexiglass. Attach two lath strips layered to the 18" shelf and one centered to the 23 1/2" shelf using Quick Grip adhesive. Test fit parts. Paint the shelves and lath black. Let dry.
  2. Iron linen fabric. Cut lettering from heat transfer vinyl using cutting machine. Apply to the linen fabric. Peel backing off adhesive back foam board. Press linen RSU on board, centering the lettering. Flatten fabric by hand from the center out to remove bubbles. Use utility knife to cut board to 16"x 19". On back of board place 2" sticky back Velcro 1" in from each corner. Set aside.
  3. Remove backing from poster frame. If plexiglass is not removable, mask off front and back of plexiglass for spray painting. Spray frame gold. Let dry. Remove paper and tape from frame.
  4. Drill holes to accept floral wire that will connect garland to frame and shelves base. Set shelves flat sides together. Drill holes, use size of bit matching wood screws, 1/2" in from top edge of both shelves starting at the right corner of 23 1/2" shelf. Drill holes every 3". Stop holes at center of shelf. Repeat holes in same locations for back, 18" shelf. Place 1' length of floral wire through holes. Pull ends of wire even and twist wire close to wood to secure. Place shelves centered on front and back of 24" side of frame. Keep bottom edges of frame and shelves flush. Use bar clamps to cinch together. Pre-drill and attach screws from the back of the 18" shelf through to the 23 1/2" shelf. Set three screws between the shelf braces, through the frame edge. Set three screws 3/4" down from the top edge of the shelves, one at either corner of the shelf and one in center. The top three screws will go through the plexiglass. Drill slowly pulling out debris as hole is created. Hand screw all screws in place. Drill additional holes around frame. Do not drill through area of frame with plexiglass. Start holes on right side of frame directly to the side of floral wire through shelf. Drill holes 3"-4" apart halfway up right side of frame. Avoid drilling through metal tabs in frame. Add holes starting 1" from the top left corner of the frame. Continue holes to center top and side center of frame. Place 1' length of floral wire through holes. Pull ends of wire even and twist wire close to wood to secure.
  5. Lay frame on its back, shelf legs will need to lay over corner of work surface. Set foam board 6" up from top edge of shelf wood, centered side to side. Mark location by attaching small strips of painters tape onto the plexiglass around the corners of the foam board. Peel the backing off Velcro and press board in place. Alternate method: Mark the location of the board with tape then the board may be attached after the floral is added.
  6. Stand the frame. Attach the garland initially by twist tying to the wires through frame and shelves. Garland stems on the sides of the frame should point up. Do not precut the lengths. Cut the ring off the end of the garland. Start garland at center top of frame. Keep the garland along the side of the frame. Cut garland just below the last wire, halfway down the side of the frame. Repeat for right side of frame starting at center and wrapping down to corner continuing to center of front shelf. Cut. Wrap remainder of garland start at bottom right corner and wrap to top of back shelf. All other single stem floral and greenery may be tucked under the existing floral wire and into the garland stem. Add greenery toward ends of garland. Add single stems of floral around all lengths of garland. Continue floral around to the back of the frame. View the floral arrangement from all angles. When desired fullness of floral is achieved hot glue stems into garland stem. Place hot glue between garland and frame and press together. Tightly spiral floral wires and cut to 1" from garland. Tuck ends of wire around garland stem. Use individual leaves to further secure stems to garland and frame. Place hot glue on back of leaf. Wrap leaf around garland and floral stem clusters. Overlap leaves onto frame to cover any visible wires.
