  1. Fuse main fabric to medium weight fusible interfacing per packaging instructions.
  2. Cut (1) template A and (1) template B from main fabric and (1) of each from felt.
  3. With wrong sides together, baste main fabric cut from template A to felt cut from template A. Fold in half with right sides together and sew along straight edge.
  4. Layer main fabric and felt cut from template B with right sides together. Sew along outer edge. Turn right side out. Top stitch 1/4" in from edge. Baste along inner circle.
  5. Pin hat brim to hat body with right sides together. Sew in place. Cover raw edges of seam allowance with bias tape and top stitch in place.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't believe what you read The pattern tells you to buy 1-1/2 yard each of the main fabric and the felt. Don't believe it! I only needed about 1/2 yard of each. I am going to ask Joann headquarters to refund the cost of the extra fabric I bought but didn't need and won't likely have occasion to use. Also, this is presented as a project for a beginner requiring only 1 - 2 hours to complete. I've been sewing for 60 years and spent close to 4 hours. The directions are vague. Attaching the hat to the brim isn't a simple procedure.
