SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- Sturdy branch
- Jute, hemp, or natural twine
- Wood beads [We used five 1.65 oz bags of beads]
- Paint
- Paintbrush
- Scissors
- Binder clips [optional]
DIRECTIONS:
- This project creates one 27" wide beaded wall hanging.
- Find a favorite sturdy stick, wipe clean and paint. We painted ours white, layering copper-colored paint on the ends.
- Using a long twine piece, wrap twine ten times around each side of the stick, leaving 34" to make a 17" length for hanging.
- Cut fifteen 50" lengths of twine. Looping the twine over the painted branch, creating thirty strands to string beads. We trimmed our twine into a "V" shape. The longest, middle strand staying the original 50" and decreasing length by 2" moving outward. Our shortest strand is about 10" long.
- Bead. Tie off the ends of each strand, then trim excess twine.
- Hang and enjoy!
JOANN HACKS:
- Make sure to choose a twine that fits easily through the holes in your wood beads.
- For kid crafting, string individual strands and tie them to stick without looping.
- Our artist worked vertically, hanging the wall hanging to work.
- To more easily add, remove, or adjust the bead strand, use a binder clip at the end of each strand until you are ready to tie off the ends.

Super fun!
I got a bucket of beads and did this project with my three year old. Was great to help with with counting and colors.
