Wood Crate Book Bench with Fleece Cushion

CUSHION

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

• 1 1/2yds Fleece
• 36"x 2" Foam Cushion
• 1/2" Ribbon, 5yds
• Basic Sewing Supplies

DIRECTIONS:

1. Cut cushion 34 1/2"x 12" and 14 1/2"x 12".
2. Cut two 35 1/2"x 13" from print for top and bottom.
3. Cut two 35 1/2"x 3" and two 13"x 3" for sides of cushion.
4. Cut two 15 1/2"x 13" for back cushion.
5. Cut two 15 1/2"x 3" and two 13"x 3" for sides of back cushion.
6. Sew the sides together for cushion starting and starting 1/2" from top and bottom of short edge.
7. Pin and sew the sides to top of cushion.
8. Pin and sew the sides to bottom of cushion leaving an opening on one short side to insert foam.
9. Cut ribbon into 8 even pieces.
10. Fold ribbon pieces in half and sew one to each corner of bottom cushion.
11. Insert foam and stitch opening closed.
12. Sew the sides together for the back cushion same as bottom cushion.
13. Add ribbon to the four sides.
14. Sew opening closed.

WOOD CRATE BOOK BENCH

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

• 4 Wood Crates
• 1 Medium Flat Paintbrush
• 2 Bottles of Dark Blue Acrylic Paint
• Wood Screws 2" in Length
• Drill with Screw Bit

DIRECTIONS:

1. Place the crates on a plastic covered working surface.
2. Paint all side with the dark blue paint and let each crate dry.
3. Place one crate vertically on top of a horizontal crate and even at the left side with the bottom crate.
4. Use 4 wood screws to attach the top crate to the bottom crate. Attach the next two bottom crate together with the wood screws and then attach them to the first bottom crate.
