Wooden Tray Key Holder

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Wooden tray with a 1/2" edge to it
  • Cardstock, assorted prints
  • Medium-sized wooden letter
  • Scotch® mounting square tabs
  • Copper acrylic paint
  • Home decor sage colored paint
  • Home decor white paint
  • 4 white hook screws
  • Adhesive spray
  • Sandpaper
  • X-Acto® knife
  • Metal ruler
  • Cutting surface

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Paint the inside base of the tray copper.
  2. Paint the edges of the tray sage green. Let it dry.
  3. Lightly dry brush paint the outside frame of the tray with Home Décor white paint allowing the under color show through.
  4. Trace the letter onto the paper. Cut out and spray with adhesive.
  5. Attach to the wooden letter and press smooth. Let it dry.
  6. Cut your assorted papers to decorate or create patterns on the inside of the frame behind the letter. Spray with adhesive and press into place. Let it dry.
  7. Attach the letter centered in the frame using the Scotch Mounting Squares.
