• Circular knitting needle size 17 (12 mm), 16 in. (40.5 cm) long

• GAUGE:
• 6 sts + 11 rnds = about 4" (10 cm) over St st worked in rnds (knit every st of every rnd).
• BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE.

NOTES:
Cowl is worked in rnds, beg and ending with Garter st (purl 1 rnd, knit 1 rnd) borders.
Between the borders, the Cowl is worked in St st worked in rnds (knit every st of every rnd), changing yarn color to form stripes.

COWL
With A, cast on 36 sts loosely.
Place marker for beg of rnd. Join by working the first st on left hand needle with the working yarn from the right hand needle and being careful not to twist sts.

With A, beg with a purl rnd, work in Garter st worked in rnds (purl 1 rnd, knit 1 rnd) for 4 rnds.

Work in St st worked in rnds, changing yarn color as follows: Work next rnd with B, (3 rnds with A, 1 rnd with B) 8 times for a total of 33 rnds of St st (9 B-colored stripes).

Cut B.
With A, beg with a knit rnd, work in Garter st worked in rnds for 4 rnds.
Bind off loosely.

FINISHING:
Weave in ends.
