• LION BRAND® large-eyed blunt needle

About 42"x 52" (106.5 x 1/2 cm)

GAUGE:
9 sts = about 4" (10 cm) over Rows 1-12 of Pattern Stitch.

DIRECTIONS:

NOTES:
Afghan is worked in one piece.
When the pattern tells you to slip a stitch, slip as if to knit or as if to purl, whichever look you prefer.

A circular needle is used to accommodate the number of stitches. Work back and forth on the circular needle as if working on straight needles.
The Afghan can be worked by following the written instructions or the chart. When working from chart, read RS rows from right to left and WS rows from left to right.

Beginning Border
Row 1 (WS): Sl 1, k2, p to last 3 sts, k3.
Row 2: Sl 1, p2, k to last 3 sts, p3.
Row 3: Rep Row 1.

Begin Pattern Stitch
Row 1 (RS): Sl 1, p2, *k2, p6; rep from * to last 5 sts, k2, p3.
Row 2: Sl 1, k2, *p2, k6; rep from * to last 5 sts, p2, k3.
Row 3: Sl 1, p2, k to last 3 sts, p3.
Row 4: Sl 1, k2, p to last 3 sts, k3.
Row 5: Sl 1, p2, *k2, p2; rep from * to last 5 sts, k2, p3.
Row 6: Sl 1, k2, *p2, k2; rep from * to last 5 sts, p2, k3.
Rows 7 and 8: Rep Rows 5 and 6.
Rows 9 and 10: Rep Rows 3 and 4
Row 11: Sl 1, *p6, k2; rep from * to last 7 sts, p to end of row.
