SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- 1/4yd for outdoor fabric or water proof fabrics
- 1/4yd of lining optional
- 14" zipper
- 1" black Parachute Buckle
- 1yd of strapping or webbing
- Kraft paper for pattern
- Pencil
- Thread
- Sewing notions
DIRECTIONS:All seams are 1/2" unless stated.
- Cut: 1 back panel 13 1/2" tapering to 8" at the bottom and 8" deep
- 1 front panel 13 1/2"x 6"
- 4 front side panels 2 1/2"x 5"
- 1 cap 13 1/2"x 3". Come down 1 3/4" from the side top of cap then make the curve.
- Cut 5" webbing.
- Cut 31" webbing.
- Cut lining (optional) of back and front panels.
- Sew zipper to right side to front panel. Center zipper to center of front panel. Cut off any excess zipper. For added strength top stitch close to zipper. (Attach lining, optional)
- Sew zipper to curve part of the cap, marking center of zipper and center of cap. Top stitch close to the zipper. (Attach lining, optional)
- Sew end pieces right sides to wrong side together through the zipper.
- Thread cut 5" webbing into female clip, fold over, and sew into edge of edge of triangle. Sew the 31" webbing to other edge of triangle. Thread and sew the 31" webbing into male clip. Fold over and sew the raw edge twice.
- Sew the triangle back panel to the top. Pin first then sew all the way around making sure the zipper is open for turning. At this time if lining is wanted, sew the lining together, leave an opening for turning, sew the lining to the top and turn, top stitch closed.

I'm an advanced seamstress with 60+ years of experience. Looking at these instructions and the PDF pattern, I would only attempt this project as a challenge. Maybe after I've figured one out, it would take the time you suggest.
The instructions are vague and with no illustrations, this would discourage anyone from sewing.
