  2. For Body: Cut 6 pieces of white ground fabric 11 1/4" wide x 21 1/4" tall.
  3. For Hanging Channel: Cut 3 pieces of white ground fabric 9" wide x 3" tall & interface with iron-on.
  4. Cut 3 pieces of cording 38" long & wrap tape around one end of each.
  5. Set 1- Top: World Fabric, Middle: Toss Animals, Bottom: World Fabric (centering type near top on outer piece)
  6. Set 2- Top: World Fabric, Middle: Toss Animals, Bottom: Animal World Print
  7. Set 3- Top: Animal World Print, Middle: World Fabric, Bottom: Toss Animals
  8. For top & middle pockets cut 2 pieces 14" wide x 8" tall - one inner & one lining.
  9. For bottom pockets cut 2 pieces 11" wide x 20 3/4" tall - one inner & one lining.
  10. Interface the outer pieces of all pockets.
  11. Fold short edges of channel in 1/4" twice and top stitch to hem. Fold piece in half along the length & press.
  12. Place body piece face up, align the channel’s raw edge up to the center of the top. Place another body piece face down on top. Pin in place.
  13. Sew up one side of body pieces, along top, then down the other side. Clip off top two corners, flip right side out & iron.
  14. Insert foam into the bottom opening of body. Reach in & pull seam allowances to ‘back side’ of foam.
  15. Roll bottom up 1/4" twice towards the back & sew along inner folded edge to close the opening.
  16. Time to make the pockets. Starting with one piece, align the bottom edge with the side edge, creating a 45 degree angle with the fold (printed side facing inward). From the corner, measure 1 1/2" in & mark a straight line toward the angled edge, creating a triangle with two 1 1/2" sides.
  17. Stitch along the line you drew, then repeat for the other bottom corner. Trim triangle off to a 1/4" seam allowance.
  18. Repeat steps 12 & 13 for all pocket pieces.
  19. Pair up your pocket outers & linings. Stitch along the top with the print sides facing each other. Flip right side out, press, then top stitch along the top edge. Baste the sides & bottoms together while you are at it. Repeat for all pockets.
  20. Mark 1/2" in & 1 1/2" down on top corners of the body piece. Folding your pocket edges under 1/2" & pin the top corners on the spots you just marked. Pin around the pocket flipping the seam allowance under.
  21. Top stitch the pocket on around the edge.
  22. Line the middle pocket up 3/4" below the top pocket & sew on in the same way.
  23. Repeat step 19 for the bottom pocket.
  24. Thread the taped end of the cording through the hanging channel. Cut off the taped end & tie the ends together.

JOANN HACKS:

  • To more easily thread the cord put a big safety pin in the end. Having something to grip from the outside makes it much easier to ease through.
