Cut fabric to sizes below
Hatch, Ginger, A & C: 2 at 43" H x 4" W
Dried Palm, Orange, B: 1 at 43" H x 7" W
Hatch, Palm, D: 1 triangle, see template
O: 1 at 28" H x 7"
Hatch, Mustard,G & I: 2 at 4" H x 19" W
L: 1 at 7" H x 25" W
N: 1 at 4" H x 25" W
Back: 1 at 43" H x 37" W
Hatch, Brick, F, H, & J: 3 at 4" H x 19" W
Papaya, Green, K: 1 at 13" H x 19" W
Dried Palm, Brown, M: 1 at 7" H x 25" W
Cut batting: 1 - 2 at 37" x 43"
Sew 1/2" SA.

FRONT PANEL
  1. RST A to B on the 43" edge. Press seam to A. Repeat for B to C. Press seam to C.
  2. RST A/B/C to D see template for placement. On WS of D mark line 1/2" from diagonal edge (stitching line). Mark perpendicular lines from 1/2" line 3/8" from one end and 5/8" from opposite end. See template for intersections of markings with A/B/C panel. Press seam to D. Cut off excess A/B/C panel bottom to 1/2" from the stitching line. Set aside.
  3. RST F to G on 19" edge. Repeat for G to H, H to I, I to J and J to K. Press seams to darker fabric.
  4. RST F-K panel to O, left 28" edge of O to right side of F-K panel. Match top and bottom corners. Press seam to O. Set aside.
  5. RST L to M on 25" edge. Repeat for M to N. Press seams to L and N.
  6. RST F-O panel bottom edge to top edge of L. Press seam to L.
  7. RST A-D panel to F-O panel. Match seam between C & D with seam between K & L. Match top and bottom corners. Press seam to C/D panel.
  8. On a flat surface layer batting, front panel RSU and back panel WSU. Match corners. Use a walking foot to sew 1/2" from edges leaving a 9" opening on the top edge for turning. Clip corners. TRSO. Press edges, folding in the opening to match the seam. Topstitch 1/4" from edges.
  9. Quilt: Stitch in the ditch. Continue horizontal lines of stitching between F - J panels through to outer edges of A/B/C panel. Add vertical lines of stitching on the F-J panel, every 3" from the top of the wall hanging through to the bottom of J. Add two lines of vertical stitching every 6" through L-M panel. Set aside.
  10. Use the hot glue gun to glue the 36" piece of fringe to the bottom edge of the piece.
  11. Using the acrylic paint and brush, paint the wooden slats your desired color. Make sure to paint around all edges. Let dry.
  12. Hammer the Sawtooth hangers so that they run 8" from the sides and line up with the top of the wood.
  13. Hot glue wooden boards to the top front and back of the piece (sandwich style).

JOANN HACKS:
  • For a thicker look to the quilted fabric use 2 layers of cotton batting.
