GAUGE:
6 sts = about 5" over St st (k on RS, p on WS).

DIRECTIONS:

Stitch Explanation:
yo (yarn over)
An increase that also creates a small decorative hole (eyelet) in the fabric, worked as follows:
Bring yarn to front, between the needles.
Take yarn to back, over the right needle. This creates the new st. You are now ready to proceed with the next st as instructed.

Notes
Top is made in 3 pieces: Body and 2 Sleeves.
Choose a size that measures a few inches less than your body. The Top is meant to have negative ease - it should be stretched when worn.
Front is worked first, from lower edge upwards. Sts are picked up along one side edge of Front to work the Back. Bind off edge of Back is sewn to opposite edge of Front to form a tube.
Sleeves are worked separately and sewn to Body.
When you see work ‘even’ in the instructions, this means to continue in the pattern st you have established without changing the st count by increasing, decreasing, or binding off.

Body
Front
With A, cast on 11 (12, 15, 17, 19) sts.
Work in St st (k on RS, p on WS) until piece measures about 10 (10, 11, 12, 13) in. (25.5 (25.5, 28, 30.5, 33) cm) from beg, end with a WS row as the last row you work.
Bind off.

Back
Pick-Up Row (RS): From RS with A, pick up and k12 (12, 13, 14, 16) sts evenly spaced along one side edge of Front.
Work in St st until Back measures about 21 (24, 25 1/2, 28, 30) in. (53.5 (61, 65, 71, 76) cm) from Pick-Up Row.

Tip
Before binding off the Back sts, wrap the top around yourself and check the fit. The Top should be snug. If it’s not, just unravel a few rows or work a few extra rows - until you’re happy with the fit.

Bind off, leaving a long yarn tail.
Sew bind off edge of Back to opposite side edge of Front to form a tube.

Sleeves (make 2)
With B, cast on 16 (16, 17, 17, 18) sts.
Knit one row, purl one row.
Bind off.

Ruffle
From RS with C, working into sts of bind off edge of Sleeve, pick up and k1 st, * yo, pick up and k2 sts; rep from * to last 1 (1, 2, 2, 1) st(s), yo, pick up and k1 (1, 2, 2, 1) st(s) - 24 (24, 25, 25, 27) sts.
Next row: Purl.
Next row (Eyelet Row): K1, * yo, k2; rep from * to last 1 (1, 2, 2, 2) st(s), yo, k1 (1, 2, 2, 2) - 36 (36, 37, 37, 40) sts.

Work even in St st until piece measures about 8 (8 1/2, 9, 9 1/2, 9 1/2) in. (20.5 (21.5, 23, 24, 24) cm) from beg, end with a RS row as the last row you work.
Bind off.

Finishing
Try on the Top, then pin the ends of the B portion of the Sleeves to the front and back of the Top.
Sew the ends of the B Sleeve portion to the Top.
The Ruffle is not seamed.

Weave in ends.
