Yarn Wrapped Holiday Ornaments

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

• Lion Brand Yarns, Wool-Ease, Ranch Red

• Fab Fab Craft, 100 Pom Poms, 0.5in
• Fab Fab Craft, 100 Pom Poms, 7mm
• Darice Chenille Stems, 25 pc, 6mm x 12in
• Googly eyes
• Cardboard
• Tacky glue
• Templates

DIRECTIONS:

1. Cut a piece of cardboard the size of the triangle template provided. 

2. Cut a piece of yarn 4" long and knot the ends together. Glue the knot to the back of the cardboard to make a loop to hang the ornament. 

3. Glue the starting end of the yarn to the back of the cardboard. 

4. Begin to wrap the yarn around the cardboard in random directions. Glue the yarn on the back as the piece is worked to help the yarn stay in place. 

5. When the piece is covered in yarn, cut the yarn and glue the end to the back of the piece. 

6. Embellish the ornament with pompoms, googly eyes, or pipe cleaners to create a Christmas tree, reindeer, or Santa hat.

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

• Fab Fab Craft, 100 Pom Poms, 7mm
• Lion Brand Yarns, Bonbons, Jingle Bells
• Scissors
• Wood slices
• Tacky glue
• Hammer
• Templates

DIRECTIONS:

1. Cut a circle around the templates provided, leaving extra space around the shape. 

2. Tape the paper template to the wood slice. 

3. Use the hammer to nail the steel tacks evenly all around the outline of the shape on the template. 

4. Tear the paper template off the tacks. 

5. Tie on end of the yarn around on the steel tacks. 

6. Begin wrapping the yarn around the tacks, first around each of the outer tacks, and then randomly around to fill the middle of the shape. 

7. When finished wrapping, cut the yarn and tie a knot around of the the tacks. Trim the end of the yarn.

8. Hammer a steel tack partially into the top of the wood slice and tie a length of yarn to create a loop to hang the ornament. After the yarn is attached, hammer the tack into the wood all the way. 

9. Embellish the shapes with small pompoms to finish the star, snowman, or Christmas tree.
