Yoga Head Wrap Headband

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 1/2 yd Yellow knit (for yoga wrap and twist headband)
  • Basic sewing supplies

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Cut two 6" wide x your head measurement.
  2. Fold each in half lengthwise and with RST, stitch 1/2" seam.
  3. Turn.
  4. Place the two bands in a plus sign, one over the other.
  5. Take the one on bottom and pin short edges together.
  6. Take the remaining band and pin short edges together.
  7. Layer the 4 edges together and stitch 1/2" seam across.

Yoga Mat Bag

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 2/3 yd Animal print for main part of bag.
  • 1/3 yd Coordinating fabric for ends
  • 1/3 yd White for handle
  • Two 1 1/2" D rings
  • 1 yd Fusible fleece interfacing
  • 1 yd Cording
  • Basic sewing supplies

DIRECTIONS:

    (1/2" seam allowance)
  1. Cut one 18"x 19" from animal print.
  2. Cut 1 each from coordinating fabric - 18"x 6", 18"x 7" for the casing end, 7" circle and 6"x 4" rectangle for tabs.
  3. Cut one 5"x width of fabric for strap.
  4. Cut fusible fleece interfacing for all pieces except strap.
  5. Fuse interfacing to coordinating fabric pieces.
  6. With RST, stitch both end pieces to main center piece.
  7. Fold the 4"x 6" rectangle in half lengthwise and sew a 1/2" seam for tabs.
  8. Turn and cut the rectangle in half. 2 Tabs for the D rings.
  9. Insert the D rings into each piece and fold.
  10. Pin the tabs to the main center piece having raw edges even and in 1/4" from seam of end pieces.
  11. With RST, and starting at the larger end piece, stitch 1 inch, stop and backstitch.
  12. Move 1/2" (opening for casing) and stitch the remaining length of bag.
  13. Fold under end 1" and stitch close to edge for casing making sure you are stitching under the opening for the cording to go through.
  14. With RST, stitch circle to opposite end of bag.
  15. Slip the cording into casing, and tie.
  16. With RST, stitch the length of the strap leaving both ends open.
  17. Turn.
  18. Slip the edges into D rings and tie, OR you can fold fabric ends through the D rings and stitch in place.
