- Sizes 5 mm (U.S. H or 8) and 6.5 mm (U.S. K or 10-1/2) crochet hooks or size needed to obtain gauge

13 sts and 10 rows = 4 ins [10cm] with smaller hook in pat
DIRECTIONS:
Note: To join new color, work to last 2 loops on hook of last st, then draw new color through rem 2 loops and proceed.
Bag Body
With smaller hook and A, ch 82.
1st row: 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 1 sc in each ch to end of ch, joining MC in last st. 81 sc. Turn.
2nd row: With MC, ch 1. (1 sc. 1 dc) in first sc. *Miss next sc. (1 sc. 1 dc) in next sc. Rep from * to last 2 sts. Miss next sc. 1 sc in last sc. Turn.
3rd row: Ch 1. (1 sc. 1 dc) in first sc. *Miss next dc. (1 sc. 1 dc) in next sc. Rep from * to last 2 sts. Miss next dc. 1 sc in last sc. Turn.
Rep 3rd row for pat. Cont in pat until work from beg measures 15-1/2" [39.5 cm], joining A at end of last row. Turn.
Next row: With A, as 3rd row. Fasten off
Bag End (make 2).
With smaller hook and MC, ch 2.
1st rnd: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Join with sl st to first sc. 6 sc.
2nd rnd: Ch 1. 2 sc in each sc around. Join with sl st to first sc. 12 sc.
3rd rnd: Ch 1. *2 sc in next sc. 1 sc in next sc. Rep from * around. Join with sl st to first sc. 18 sc.
4th rnd: Ch 1. *2 sc in next sc. 1 sc in each of next 2 sc. Rep from * around. Join with sl st to first sc. 24 sc.
5th rnd: Ch 1. *2 sc in next sc. 1 sc in each of next 3 sc. Rep from * around. Join with sl st to first sc. 30 sc.
6th rnd: Ch 1. *1 sc in each of next 2 sc. 2 sc in next sc. 1 sc in each of next 2 sc. Rep from * around. Join with sl st to first sc. 36 sc.
7th rnd: Ch 1. *2 sc in next sc. 1 sc in each of next 5 sc. Rep from * around. Join with sl st to first sc. 42 sc.

Strap (make 2).
Note: Strap is worked with 2 strands of yarn held tog throughout.
With larger hook and 2 strands of A, ch 59.
1st row: 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 1 sc in each ch to end of ch. 58 sc. Turn.
2nd row: Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc to end of row. Turn.
Rep last row 5 times more. Do not fasten off.
Fold Strap lengthwise.
Joining row: Ch 1. Working through both thickness, sl st across side edges to join. Fasten off.
Finishing
With RS facing, fold Bag Body lengthwise to form tube. Sew zipper in place down long edges beg and ending 1-1/2" [4 cm] in from each short edge. Sew rem 1-1/2" [4 cm] at each end of long edges closed.
Join Bag End: **1st rnd: With smaller hook and A, work 1 rnd of sc through both thicknesses to join Bag End to Bag Body. Join with sl st to first sc.
2nd rnd: Ch 1. Working from left to right, instead of from right to left as usual, work 1 reverse sc in each sc around. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off.**
Rep from ** to ** for other end.
Sew Straps to Bag Body 6" [15 cm] in from each end and 2" [5 cm] in from zipper.
