SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Trim a piece of white cardstock to 5 1/2" x 8 1/2". Fold in half to create card base. Set aside.
  2. Trim a piece of watercolor paper to 4" x 5 1/4".
  3. Use an ink blending brush to heavily blend the following inks from top to bottom: Pool Party, Blue Hawaii, Berry Smoothie and Fruit Punch. Flick water droplets on background and blot with paper towel.
  4. Place the stencil on the panel and secure. Heavily apply Unicorn Pigment Ink over the top of the stencil. Remove stencil, sprinkle on clear embossing powder and heat emboss.
  5. Once again, use an ink blending brush to heavily blend the following inks from top to bottom: Pool Party, Blue Hawaii, Berry Smoothie and Fruit Punch. Flick water droplets on background and blot with paper towel. Wipe excess ink off embossed areas with a paper towel.
  6. Adhere the panel to card base with foam adhesive.
  7. Stamp the Tin of Brushes image on watercolor paper with black ink and trim out with a scissors. Color with Reactive Inks and watercolor paints.
  8. Use the Gelly Roll Clear Stardust Pen to add sparkly details to the paintbrush heads and dripping paint.
  9. Stamp the You are Awesome sentiment on a strip of white cardstock with black ink and trim to create banner ends.
  10. Trim a piece of vellum to 2 1/2" x 3 3/4".
  11. Adhere the vellum piece followed by the Tin of Brushes and the sentiment to complete the card.

Craft Hack Tips and Tricks:

  • Adding vellum behind objects on a busy background will help make them stand out more.
  • When applying lots of ink and water to paper, be sure to use a quality heavyweight watercolor paper.
