SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Anchor Embroidery Floss Spools, Colors:
    • 0187 Sea Green Med
    • 0253 Parrot Green Very Lt
    • 0002 White
    • 0403 Black
  • Tape
  • Optional: Clip Board

DIRECTIONS:

To find the downloadable patterns click on the "GET PATTERNS" tab above.
NOTE: Finished bracelet is 1/2 inch wide.
  1. Cut the following lengths of Floss:
    • Sea Green Med and Parrot Green Very Lt 31in Long, 3
    • Black floss 52in, 4
    • White floss 52in, 2
  2. Holding the floss together evenly tie a loose overhand knot approximately 4in from the cut ends. Tape the knot to a flat surface or secure under clip on clipboard.
  3. Place the strands of floss in the order shown at the top of the pattern. See Diagram 1.
  4. Tie the first knot on the left with the 2 first strands (remember that each knot is composed of 2 base knots) See Diagram 2.
  5. Tie all the other knots of the row from left to right.
  6. For the next row, put the first strand on the left aside, and tie the first knot with the 2nd and 3rd strand. See Diagram 3.
  7. Tie all the other knots of the row from left to right.
  8. The first row may look a little messy at this point but it will correct itself as you continue to knot the bracelet. Continue following the pattern row by row until the bracelet is long enough.
  9. Undo the loose knot from step 1 (this step can be done anytime after you've done at least 4 rows of the bracelet).
  10. Braid each end (the total length of the bracelet + both braids should be enough so you'd be able to slide the bracelet over your hand to put it on your wrist).

  11. NOTE: Refer to Diagram 4 and 5 for basic knots and how to read pattern.

JOANN HACKS:

HOW TO MAKE A SLIDING CLOSURE FOR YOUR BRACELET
  1. Cut a piece of floss that is at least 8 inches (20cm) long. Tie a half knot around both braids. Tie a second half knot to secure it. See Digram 6.
  2. Tie 3 forward knots over both braids. See Digram 7.
  3. Tie 2 half knots to secure the closure and cut the extra string leaving a 1/4 inch (6mm) tail.
