How To Get It

Quilter's 80/20™ is a super-soft, needlepunched quilt batting that is preferred by hand quilters because it is very easy to needle and shows stitching definition. Machine quilters love the 80% cotton and 20% polyester blend because machine needles glide through it with ease, and it’s light and airy creating a beautiful drape. The cotton helps create that favored flat traditional look making it the ideal batting for light-weight, year round quilts and throws. The added polyester helps to reduce shrinkage and wrinkles also making it great for clothing and wall hangings. Lightly misted with a polyester bonding with no scrim. Low loft around 1/8” with a quilting distance of 2" - 4", no need for pre-soaking. The 45” x 60” crib size is the ideal size for baby quilts, lap quilts, placemats, and table runners.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Baby quilt This 80/20 batting for baby quilt is lighter than cotton. Also with babies, spitting up etc, generally need to be washed more often, polyester blends are more durable, I read multiple places so a good combination of lighter and more durable for baby quilts. Especially if working with yardage that is washed and dried for shrinkage before cutting and piecing

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not for quilting I would not recommend. It’s in a weird state of adhesion where when you iron it, it separates from itself. It’s like a sheet of spider webs slightly stuck together instead of a piece of batting. It’s really thin in spots and really uneven, and it shed lint everywhere just trying to iron it. It reminds me of batting I would expect to see already inside a quilt that is 50 years old and has been through the wash multiple times. I bought this for quilting because it was the cheapest, I guess I got what I paid for! I’ll be using it to stuff toys (I think it’s a great texture for that), but would not recommend it for quilting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Recommended for Beginners I made my first quilt with this recently, a d it was very easy to stitch through, and didn't bunch up a lot despite my lack of... technique. Lol. Great product, 100% will use again. Looking forward to scaling up to heavier weights and testing out what else the brand has to offer.
