Covered Buttons
I needed covered buttons for an upholstery project, and these buttons have the shank in the top instead of the bottom, making them ideal for covering with a heavier weight fabric. The shank in the top helps to keep the fabric from pulling out of the bottom when they have been installed.

1/16" half ball covered buttons
I purchased the size 18. Contrary to what is indicated on the package, I was unable to use two thin layers of fabric because the buttons would pop apart. My intentions were to use two sheer thin layers plus a layer of lace. Nothing worked. I wasted and ruined many buttons trying to make them work for me but, to no avail. I ended up using one layer of fabric, which the silver button shines through. My granddaughter was ok with it. I wasn't. I can only suggest to mfr a black base button, as well. Or, to invest in a professional button covering system.

Sturdy and strong
I love these button covers. They are strong and durable and have a "claw-like" feature that grabs the cloth to help the fabric stay put while the rest of the button may be attached.

I have been using ball cover buttons for years, I make a lot of things for my grandchildren. I liked the driftz buttons as they always came with the little tools and I could cover 10 in as many minutes. I was at my sons and wanted to decorate nursery curatains. I went specifically to get them. I found them But when I got home I noticed they said no tools included. It took me over 10 minutes a piece to cover each one. It was almost impossible to get the material to remain in place without the tools they used to include. I will not be using this product again.

half ball cover buttons
I use the half ball buttons--the others are NO GOOD. These have the wire attached to the button on the inside-not part that squishes into the button. So far they have worked fine on clothing

Just okay product
Although these buttons were relatively easy to use, my fingers ended up being raw by the time I was done with them.

Doesn't get the job done with lining & fabric
I've used the old buttons with the plastic piece that you hammer the back piece on with with great success. The teeth of these new buttons did not work at all with two layers of fabric (face & lining)- the only thing that got caught in the teeth were my fingers.
