Rated 5 out of 5 by from Useful I bought mine a couple years ago. I am not a prolific GlowForger, but I’ve made some Xmas gifts, a coffee carrier and other odds and ends. It allows me to express my creative side, without having to go into my 100 degree garage in the summers. If you are a crafter or just want a toy that is a tool to play with I highly recommend it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cool machine the glowforge is super easy to setup and the software is easy to use. The only downside to the machine that no one seems to be talking about is the warranty. You're only covered under the warranty if you use only proof grade materials; however, they are literally always out of stock. Also, they advertise that the machine can be used to personalized wooden cutting boards, spoons, etc., but those aren't proof grade materials and will void your warranty. We shouldn't have to choose between the warranty and personalizing items (especially since they advertise the usage of non-proof grade materials.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best Thing Ever I absolutely love my Glowforge Pro. I’ve had ‘her’ for almost a year and have not ever regretted even once getting ‘her’. The versatility that’s offered to bring my creations to life is just great; there are so many material options that you can use - the possibilities are absolutely endless! There are no issues to report! There is also a Glowforge owners forum and I enjoy getting on there - it’s a really cool community. Get this! You won’t regret it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pros and Cons of Owning a Glowforge I've been using a Glowforge for 3 years now, it's definitely one of the best creative products I've ever had. Even three years in, I keep finding new ways to use it, and literally anything can trigger a new idea that's easy to make because I've got it. And unlike a lot of other machines I've bought, I haven't lost interest in this one after cranking out a few cards or tchotchkes for friends and family. Big bonus: the company is focused on continuing to improve it, so it just keeps getting better all the time. On the negative side, there is no phone support. Support is via email, chat, or you can get help with a lot of issues on the Glowforge Forum. It can take a few days for them to get back to you if you do run across a problem, but they DO eventually resolve the problems. It's just hard for new customers to not panic when they have an issue with the machine. Another downside is the delays in getting them....they are built when they are ordered, and they can get backlogged if a lot of people order at once. Be sure to place your order well in advance of when you will need it. Delays of up to a month are not uncommon. One of the largest pluses for it though, is if you are already familiar with any kind of digital cutter, it's very easy to learn to use one of these. Many of the file types used in the digital cutter world will work without modification on the Glowforge. Bottom line: SUPER happy I bought this. It would be a great value at twice the price.

Like any good tool, it takes a little skill ramp-up, and it rewards that very reasonable effort. The online community of users is the Bonus Feature you shouldn't discount. The Community offers solid advice, wonderful ideas, and tons of encouragement. All in all, a tool that gives back more than what you put into it.
