Rated 1 out of 5 by from Frustrating This was a machine I thought would be superior to the Janome2222. The thread skipped and clotted up underneath or was so loose the sticking pulled right out. I called Janome customer service, the agent walked me through trying different tensions and foot plates. Nothing helped. She told me to buy the purple needles because this corrects skipping of stitches and keeps the stitch even. I put the needle in and it still clogged up and bent the needle. She told me to return it because the machine had issues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Heavy-Duty Mechanical Machine This is an excellent heavy-duty sewing machine that is mechanical. It sews 6.5mm wide, which is better than most mechanical machines that generally sew only 5mm wide. It has 18 well-chosen stitches, and the stitch quality is excellent. It looks awesome in black, but there is a white edition, too. This is great for quilting, home decor and garment construction. I highly recommend it. It will sew through ANYTHING with the proper needle.

The instruction book for the model HD-3000-BE is one of the best IB’S I have ever seen for a product that I have bought...sewing machines...as they go...are pretty much the same as operation goes...for a newbie, if they pay attention to instruction details they should not have any problem getting the unit running in the basic sewing mode...I would have no problem recommending this product...

I cannot emphasize how how easy it is to set up and use and I would recommend this machine no matter your level of knowledge. its precision cannot be beat and it is incredibly quiet with no shimmy or vibration no matter what I throw at it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great machine I bought this machine at Christmas time as I wanted a more heavy-duty machine. My Brother machine was struggling to stitch through some of my projects. I use drapery or upholstery weight fabric to make bags for the front of patients' walkers for my patients at work. I work in occupational therapy at a rehab facility. The Janome stitched through the tough stuff like a dream. My former occupation was professional seamstress. I am very happy with the smoothness, stitching, tension and control of this machine.
