Even the best yarns wear down with frequent use and machine washing – until now. Lion Brand created Basic Stitch Anti-Pilling for all your favorite projects that see a lot of wear and tear. Even before it is spun into a premium 4-ply acrylic, the fiber is treated to resist pilling. And, when pills do form (due to frequent use and washing), no need to pick them off – just throw the item in the washer and the pills disappear. But that’s not the only great thing about Basic Stitch Anti-Pilling. It is super soft, has great stitch definition, and comes in an extensive palette. This is the perfect yarn for those afghans the family loves to snuggle under on movie night, the scarf and hat you wear every day, and baby’s favorite blankie that gets dragged through the playground.

Lion brand basic antipilling yarnThis was my first time using antipilling yarn. I really enjoyed it, it was soft and slid on my hook nicely, and the hats I made look great.

Good value yarnThis yarn is good for beginners as it is pretty cheap (I got a bunch at $2.99 a skien when on sale) and softer than other cheap yarns. It's also great for trying new designs or making something inexpensive. That being said, this yarn does come with some factory knots. Not a crazy amount, but still annoying. This yarn also does pill some despite the claims, though not crazy bad.

Didn’t like.I got this yarn specifically because it said “anti pilling”. Which I’ll discover once I wash it. To look at the yarn is beautiful with a touch of sheen. The reason for less stars is , it is like Caron simply soft and it splits.

Love this yarnThis is my new favorite workhorse yarn. I have used it for a stranded sweater and now for a chemo hat. Yarn is very soft, but not splitty, does not unravel, can stand up to being pulled out and re-knit. Yarn has a great put-up. Will be using again and again.

Great yarn to work withI originally bought this as I was looking to replace Bernat Satin for a project. I saw the colors and decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised by the ease of use and the quality. I have gone on to use it more extensively since and cannot complain. I have used different colors and they all are of consistent quality.

Difficult to work, fuzzy, wrong color, and splitsThis yarn is pretty soft, but that's all I'll give it. It splits very easily. Even after holding it gently, it's still super fuzzy and will take a fabric shaver to fix. Lastly, the color is off. It's not a warm pink, but more of a cool, dirty, grayish light pink - like if you took the yarn in the photo and rubbed it around in some dirt. Gross.

Do not buy this yarnThis is the poorest performing yarn I have ever used. Trying to prepare a skein for use requires hours of preparation. Save yourself all the time I have wasted untangling the constant tangles. Buy a better brand of yarn - this one sucks!!!!!
