Do not buy if you value fresh air!
This cutting mat reeks to high Heaven. Yes! I aired it out on the porch. Brought one in to cut something and my kitchen had a terrible toxic plastic smell. Back out for another overnight on the porch. Next day i read lemon dish soap, so over they went to the hose with a clean rag I threw away after. Back on the porch overnight to dry. Tried again with all three mats, my house smelled AWFUL in one hour. I packed them up and took them back. I feel so sorry for the factory workers wherever these are produced. They will surely develop health problems. I can’t believe we aren’t protected better. Please do not buy, and if you do, please return it. No one should be allowed to produce something so toxic!

Horrible smell
Received this last week and the smell is so strong it permeates my entire studio, which is a big room. Smells like burnt rubber, very toxic-smelling. I did try washing it but the first try didn't get rid of it. I'll try again. This is my second mat from Olfa. The first one did not have this issue.

Love the size and having 3 mats
I've had this for over a year now and really do enjoy using it. It's the best mat I've ever owned. I sew almost everyday and you can't tell it's been used that much. The measurements are accurate and easy to see and they really do self-heal.
I have 2 cons about it though.
- The clips that hold the mats together are very much in the way. The screws that keep the clips in place stand up and snag on the fabric or prevent the fabric from laying flat.
- Each mat should be numbered on the sides. I have eye problems and, when I'm using the farthest right mat, I sometimes can't make out the numbers going from bottom to top on the farthest left mat.
Otherwise they are very good mats. If it weren't for the two problems I mentioned, I would have given 5 stars.

Great tabletop cover for a cutting table
I bought this a number of years ago and it is perfect size for my cutting table. I can cut from any side. Love it!

Love it!
Love this mat! I don't know why I waited so long to get it. Did not notice any smell as others have pointed out.
I just set it up on my table and the next morning I started my project.The big size makes it so easy to lay out my fabric and just keeping cutting without have to rearrange the fabric.
I did use a coupon to get a great deal on it and I would purchase again if need be.

Perfect huge cutting mat with alteration
It's a delight to have a huge cutting mat. But the metal clips get in the way of the plastic rulers, so I used duct tape in three places on the back where the mats join. I tape at the top, bottom, and in the middle. They lay perfectly flat. Just make sure they really meet.

Pleased with the product and your service. I received the mat on the promised date. I bought an additional mat for my friend as a retirement gift. We did notice a strong plastic order. I phoned OLFA directly and they recommended we was the mat with a lemon dishwashing soap. I tried it and it seemed to work. Looking forward to using it for a long time.
