Quilting safety pins
I am on my second box. These pins are extremely dull. Very difficult to puncture through my quilt top, batting and quilt base. I am throwing away at least 1 in 5. A waste of money.

Easier on my hands
I hadn't used the coiless curved safety pins before and was pleasantly surprised at how much easier to use they were compared to the traditional curved safety pin with a coil. They made pinning the layers of my quilt together while it was taped down easier and quicker. And less hard on my hands. I would recommend to anyone who finds pinning quilt layers hard.

Coiled safety pins
Not crazy about these pins that I use for pinning my quilts before I quilt them. Tricky to remove as they slide into the batting when I try to take them out. Will stick to the coiled style which seem a little sturdier. Glad I tried only a small package of them!

Why didn't I buy these pins years ago?
These pins make pin basting a quilt so much easier and quicker. The curve helps to pull up the quilt in one smooth motion. The pins also went through all the layers easily. Being coiless, they were easier to remove, without getting caught on the fabric. These pins were also the perfect size for basting.
