Perler beads are so much fun and this kit in particular is a great way to start. You get the basic colors you need to begin in a tidy tray to keep them. The pegboards and ironing paper are sold separately but that's ok. They're nice quality - I've read about other types of "knockoff" perler beads melting at different rates and ruining people's designs, but these worked fine. I know they're for kids but I'm an adult and I still think they're really neat - something to keep your hands busy. Even for kids, aside from the small pieces, it's a fairly mess-free way to craft (no glue, paint, glitter, etc.)...well, as long as they don't spill! :)
